Step 1: From the file "items_you_can_sell" above, determine the three items your group wants to sell. (Make sure the three items your group chose add up to $100). Step 2: Find the profit you can make from all five items. To find the profit multiply the selling price by the amount of items. Then subtract how much you bought it for. Step 3: Using pen and paper, explain why your group chose the three items you did. (show work if needed). Step 4: Open a worksheet in Microsoft Excel. In column A list the three items your group chose. Step 5: In column B list the amount of money your group paid for each item. Step 6: In column C list the total amount you received for selling the items. Step 7: Highlight all the information, look at the top of the page, your group must find the clustered column graph on excel. (depending on the version of Excel you have, it may be different. However, each version will have it in the graphing section.) On the resources page you their is an example with more instructions. Step 9: With the information your group found in step 2 you must now make a pie chart. In column A put the items your group sold. In Column B put the profit your group made. Highlight this table and use the graphing function again to find the pie chart. There is also an example for this as well on the resource page. Step 10: Explain if your group made enough money to have the school dance that everyone in the school is hoping for.
